Resume Feedback India — Real Examples of What Recruiters Actually Say

Published on April 26, 2026 • 5 min read

Most job seekers in India never get feedback. They just get silence. At RoastMyCV, we've seen thousands of resumes, and the same mistakes keep happening. To help you understand what "good feedback" looks like, here are three real-world examples of resume roasting.

Example 1: The "Generic Manager"

"Experienced manager with 10 years in operations. Good at leading teams and delivering results."

The Roast:

"This summary is so generic it could belong to anyone from a bank manager to a restaurant owner. 'Delivering results' is a meaningless phrase. Which results? Did you save ₹10 Lakhs? Did you reduce turnover by 20%? If you don't quantify, you don't exist."

Example 2: The "Tech-Stack Soup"

"Skills: Java, Python, C++, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, NoSQL, HTML, CSS, React, Node.js..."

The Roast:

"You've listed 20 different technologies. No one is an expert in 20 things. Recruiters see this and think you're just keyword stuffing. Pick your top 5 and prove you've actually used them to build something that mattered."

Example 3: The "Notice Period" Hidden Trap

"Current Location: Bangalore. Notice Period: 90 Days."

The Roast:

"Putting '90 Days' in bold at the top is like putting a 'Do Not Hire' sign on your head. Unless you're a CXO, most startups will skip you immediately. Mention it's 'negotiable' or focus on your 'buy-out' options if they exist."

Stop Getting Ghosted

If you want to know what a recruiter *really* thinks about your resume, you need a roast, not a polite "it's okay."
