BTech Fresher Resume Guide India 2026 — Section by Section With Examples
Published on June 10, 2026 • 6 min read
India produces over 1.5 million engineers every year. To stand out during campus placements or off-campus drives, your BTech resume cannot just be a list of programming languages and a generic "seeking an entry-level position" objective. You need to prove you can write clean code and build actual products.
1. Education Section: Keep It Brief
Put your education at the top, but keep it concise. Mention your Degree, Branch, College, Year of Graduation, and CGPA. If your 10th and 12th scores are above 80%, include them; otherwise, omit them to save space.
2. The Project Section: Your Secret Weapon
Since you lack work experience, your projects section is the core of your resume. Do not just list "Library Management System in Java." Use the STAR framework. Describe the tech stack, what problem it solved, and link to the GitHub repo. E.g., "Developed a real-time chat application using MERN stack and Socket.io, supporting up to 500 concurrent users with less than 20ms latency."
3. Technical Skills: Be Honest
Categorize your skills: Languages (Java, Python), Frameworks (React, Spring Boot), Tools (Git, Docker), and Databases (MySQL, MongoDB). Do not list a skill unless you are prepared to answer interview questions on it. "Familiar with..." is better than claiming expertise you don't have.
